Does Retro Fitness have daycare?
The challenges of parenthood are endless—I know you parents out there are busy balancing family, work, and personal commitments. What does that often leave out? Finding time for fitness.
Well, fellow parents: here's my advice for the ultimate game changer: A gym with childcare. It's truly a win-win for the entire family—I get a chance to break a sweat for an hour-ish, and my little one gets to mingle and play.
How about Retro Fitness?
Nope! Sorry, there is no childcare or daycare services at Retro Fitness.
If you're a busy parent and want a gym to workout at, and rely on expert hands to watch your kids... You'll have to find another location. No Retro Fitness gyms offer it.
Update: As of November 30th, 2023, the amenity was removed from all clubs. Some locations turned the space into red light therapy areas, or an additional spot for stretching.
Wow, bummer. None at all? How do you know?
We made sure to check every single one of their gym pages, and poked around their Facebook and Instagram profiles. Unfortunately parents, you'll need to find another gym since Retro doesn't offer childcare.
Update: We spoke with their customer care team and they confirmed the amenity is no longer offered. As of December 8th, their website still states childcare hours. That's incorrect!
Why doesn't Retro Fitness have childcare?
We have no inside info about this chain. But, here's our best guess to why not:
- Membership costs would go up. Being a value-based operator, childcare doesn't make sense for Retro.
- There's no space! Many of their clubs have already filled their spaces with other amenities. You'll find tanning, massage, and plenty of smoothie bars! We figure the Retro team sees better value from those options vs childcare.
Will they have childcare in the future?
We don't think so. Sure, they could take a drastic turn from their well established business plan... but that would require a significant change in who they are, and how much they charge.
We suggest finding a different place for childcare.
Wrapping up
Retro Fitness does not have childcare, at any of their 86 locations. We're busy checking every single one of their gyms, and we're sure that it's not a standard offering.
Will Retro Fitness add childcare in the future? Probably not.
