Ready to turn up the heat?  Like others, you've discovered the immense benefits of a sauna. You love the hot hot heat, and the way it draw toxins and impurities from your skin. We are on the same vibe my friend: that fresh out of the sauna' feeling is purely addictive!

Here at gymscompared.com, people are always asking us if a certain gym has a sauna. And we can clearly see why it makes sense: Folks are either warming up muscles before their workouts, or relaxing sore ones once their session is complete. Bottom line: the sauna is a key amenity to help achieve your fitness goals.

More and more gyms across the country have added a sauna (or two!) for their members—and we've done all the research for you.

Just 2 of Fitness SF's 8 clubs in the Bay Area have a sauna. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see which ones.

We have some pretty good ideas to why they don't:

• No space! Fitness SF clubs aren't exactly huge locations (like their 50,000 square feet competitors). So, they decided to use their space for "traditional gym equipment" such as free-weights, machines and cardio equipment.
• Would drive up the membership price. Adding a sauna would definitely increase that price as it takes significant resources, maintenance and cost to run a sauna properly.

We're not sure, at least a two of their locations list it. Adding saunas to existing Fitness SF clubs would require significant building, resource and operational changes—in addition to raising prices. Unless they open brand new locations, we don't more saunas are coming anytime soon. 

Also, in a small 7x7 city like San Francisco, you'd be able to visit different locations of theirs just for the sauna as well. 

Yep, sure is. Sauna is included in your monthly membership fee.  We only see a single plan, and it does include the sauna.

Yes, but it depends on the location. 

• Their SOMA location lists just a women's dry sauna
• Their Fillmore location lists both a men's and women's separate dry sauna.

Just two saunas at Fitness SF. From what we gathered, we're unsure if more are coming in the future.
