Gold's Gym (Georgetown Park) in Washington DC is the 4th location from this gym chain set to open in the city. This is a stunning take on what a gym can be—an immersive space lined with greenery, spread with luxurious touches alongside heavy weights and advanced recovery amenities.

Everything screams upscale and premium, a direction that is a departure from the original brand of Gold's Gym from past. What remains the same however, is hard-core dedication to create a space where both mind and body can escape, transform, train and be one's true self.

We can't wait to workout here. Tentative open date for this location is "early 2024."

Ooh, new gym smell!

New gym in Washington!

Those who choose Gold's Gym Georgetown Park are in for something special. This classic fitness chain has expanded their look and overall offerings through the years—but this specific location in Washington DC takes it further, and we must say it is utterly sublime

Buried in the basement of the building, designer Max Cuzuc of collectivearchitecture.co envisions a transforming space:

The main design concept combines darker, moodier colors with black steel and warm wood details. To enhance the ambiance, we are incorporating essential lighting and greenery elements to elevate the overall experience

Who knew a gym could be so inviting, modern and warm? The lounge and vibe this design gives off is nothing we've ever seen. (Actually, this is full-on Equinox luxury—at a Gold's Gym!)

Alright—now let's get to business, you ready to workout? Let's dive into what this new 24,000 square foot location opening in Spring 2024 is all about.

  • Pristine and fresh equipment. You'll see all the standard stuff: cardio machines, free weights and strength machines. But new is new and that means no dust dirt broken or missing anything.
  • We love the upscale infrared sauna, perfect for soothing muscles. Purists may prefer the traditional sauna, but the inclusion of this amenity is welcomed.
  • Luxurious locker rooms outfitted with deluxe rain-shower-heads and floating vanities. We know these are "just renderings" but we hope those tufted leather benches are included too.
  • The group fitness room is chock full of mirrors amidst classic brick walls. Should be great for high energy "unlimited group exercise classes". We're guessing a certain membership type here would grant that perk.

This is considered a medium sized gym, so there's isn't space for things like a pool, steam room, and whirlpool/hot-tub. Things like basketball, pickleball, squash and racquetball aren't included either. And a potential deal-breaker for parents: no childcare.

Overall, a stunning design rendering for a gym that we hope real life gets to encapsulate. We like the good mix of offerings at this new club in the nation's capital, and we're excited to see it come to life.

Niiice. New gym in Georgetown Park!

We don't have an exact date for the grand opening from Gold's Gym—just a coming soon message. We see that the date may have been pushed back from late 2023 to early 2024.

We like to spy on their Facebook and Instagram accounts for any new details. You can be sure we'll update you here as info comes up.

Lots of amenities at this location.

A mid-sized gym, you'll find that Gold's squeezed in a healthy amount of upscale features. Renders of this location show a mix of greenery alongside natural wood touches. Here's what else we can't wait to try out:

  • Luxurious finishes in a premium locker room with deluxe rain-shower-heads. This upscale bathroom is unreal.
  • Soothing infrared sauna with wood benches
  • Dedicated recovery room. If it's like their Reston, VA location, we'd expect to see Theragun massage guns, vibrating foam rollers, massage chairs and even the CryoLounge beds.

So how much is it gonna cost?

We calculated the average Gold's Gym membership to be about $36.79 per month. But, this franchise-based gym chain has pricing that varies wildly. A brand new—upscale—location like this one will run you on the higher end.

We expect pricing to hover around $40 to $60 a month to get in, though that cost can rise in an expensive market like Washington DC. The extensive list of premium amenities and services will likely push that cost higher too.
